CASA Boutique Hotel Opens on Washington Avenue, Miami Beach
The CASA Boutique Hotel recently opened at Miami Beach's 1334 Washington Avenue under the direction of developers Blue Road, led by Jorge Savloff and Marcelo Tenenbaum. Casa Boutique Hotel will feature 32 upgraded rooms at the site that housed the original, historic, Waldorf Building which was built in 1925. Blue Road kept the original exterior, Spanish style of the building while completely renovating the interior. Il Baretto, a new Italian restaurant which will offer tapas, fire-oven pizza and homemade pasta, is slated to open in March. Blue Road aims to offer affordable luxury to Miami Beach tourists that blends history and charm with modern luxury and technology.
Roca Hotel Coming to the Corner of 5th Street & Michigan Avenue Miami Beach
South Beach continues to undergo a major shake-up as a new hotel is now under construction at the corner of 5th Street and Michigan Avenue in South Beach. The project will be designed by Kobi Karp and the hotel will be 27,000 SF on the 14,000 SF property. Signs on the property refer visitors to the Roca Hotel website, which is registered by RG Group. Renderings have the building as the Michigan Hotel. There has been some rumblings as of late that 5th Street may undergo a name change to Miami Beach Boulevard, though that still remains to be seen.

Monad Terrace Expects to Break Ground by End of January
Monad Terrace, Miami Beach's newest luxury residential waterfront haven, expects to break ground by the end of January. The development by JDS Development Group is designed by Jean Nouvel with architecture by Kobi Karp. The project will feature 59 residences that range from 2 to 5 bedrooms and start at $1.7 million. The design of the development will keep climate change and rising sea levels in mind. "Made in South Beach" Coming to 600 Alton Road
Crescent Heights proposed project at 600 Alton Road will officially be called "Made in South Beach." The project includes 501 rental units with 70,000 SF of amenities and 60,000 SF of indoor/outdoor retail space with beautifully landscaped courtyards. Units will come in 1 and 2 bedroom layouts. Currently no construction permits have been applied for but Crescent Heights has been focusing on designing, branding and building the concept for the project. They're goal is to transform the entrance to Miami Beach as 600 Alton Road is the first residential and commercial lot seen when entering South Beach. The project was originally called "The Waves" and was to include 485 rental units before before Crescent Heights expanded their plans. The footprint will envelope the 500, 600 and 700 blocks of Alton Road.
