Miami-based real estate investment firm Location Ventures and Marriott International’s EDITION Hotels has broken ground on EDITION Residences Fort Lauderdale. The milestone signifies the launch of construction for the first luxury branded residences on the city’s Intracoastal that will feature two 11-story towers with 65 spacious condominiums.
On Feb. 9, Location Ventures, Marriott representatives, city officials, development partners and friends gathered at the property’s exclusive address of 551 Bayshore Drive in Fort Lauderdale’s burgeoning North Beach Village to celebrate the occasion. Honorary guests included Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis and Commissioner Steve Glassman, along with Sheila Farahpour, Vice President of Luxury and Mixed-Use Development at Marriott International, and Jay Parker, CEO of Douglas Elliman Florida.
As a twist to the traditional groundbreaking event, attendees received individually sized champagne bottles to pop during the ceremony – a nod to the EDITION brand’s signature style of fusing modern sophistication and culturally-inspired creativity. Cocktails and canapés added to the festivities, while a vibrant sunset over the waterway highlighted the serene views that will be enjoyed by future homeowners.
“North Beach Village in Fort Lauderdale has seen tremendous growth and change over the last few years,” said Rishi Kapoor, CEO of Location Ventures. “There is excitement and demand for the local, combined with the incomparable experiences and quality of the EDITION brand, and we are thrilled to break ground on this exceptional site.”
Fort Lauderdale has emerged from the shadows of its well-known neighbors: Miami and Palm Beach. The “Venice of America” has welcomed an influx of residents flocking to the city for its high-end restaurants, new luxury developments, cultural offerings, and relaxed ambiance. The interest is evident in the sales of the EDITION Residences Fort Lauderdale. With exclusive representation by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, the project was introduced to market in October 2022.
EDITION Residences Fort Lauderdale will continue to raise the bar in the area as it attracts discerning home buyers both nationally and internationally who seek upscale amenities paired with a laidback South Florida lifestyle. The towers will offer spacious residences with two-bedroom to four-bedroom floor plans, including nine villas and four penthouses, ranging from 1,710 to 4,660 square feet. Each home will offer opulently designed interiors, gourmet kitchens with premium appliances, and unparalleled views of the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal waterway from its floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive terraces.
Taking advantage of its lush surroundings, the property will provide residents with 20,000 square feet of outdoor amenities, including multiple wellness components like meditation walkways with meditation bowls, an edible garden, two pools, and an Intracoastal riverwalk that features dockage for small boats. A moonroof and a sunroof, featuring a movie screen, large fire pit, and an outdoor summer kitchen, will become ideal settings to mingle and unwind while enjoying unbeatable rooftop views. The property will also include a poolside grill and a Health & Wellness Center with dedicated areas for fitness and pampering, including a hammam and treatment rooms.
Designed by GarciaStromberg, the building’s glass façade emulates the movement of light reflecting from the waterfront. Internationally renowned interior designer Clodagh also embraces the natural characteristics of South Florida with neutrals punctuated by splashes of color and unique textures to celebrate the water and changing sky. Landscape design by Cadence captures the tropical essence of the area with its exuberant plants and tranquil energy.
EDITION Residences Fort Lauderdale is within walking distance to a plethora of leisure offerings, including the beach, culinary experiences, hotels and more. It is also in proximity to the famed Las Olas Boulevard’s retail and entertainment, museums and performing arts, and is just seven miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
