Real Madrid will open their first Real Madrid Café in the United States in Met Square. The restaurant will cover 12,000 SF over two stories, a 4,000 SF ground level and an 8,000 SF second level. It will feature a restaurant, bar, Real Madrid merchandise store and a VIP lounge. Real Madrid Café is expected to open in early 2018. Met Square is the final phase of Metropolitan Miami which includes the residential towers Met 1, Met3 and Avant, along with the Wells Fargo Center known as Met 2, JW Marriott Marquis Miami and Hotel Beaux Arts Miami. Met Square will also feature Silverspot Cinema.
CentralFare Food Hall at MiamiCentral Expected To Open Fall 2017
CentralFare, the food hall and gourmet market at MiamiCentral, is expected to open in Fall 2017. The project includes over 50,000 SF of restaurant space featuring over 20 vendors including Monger by the Voltaggio Brothers, which will be CentralFare’s signature sit-down restaurant, 800 Degrees Italian concept, Miami Smokers, Parliament Coffee, Romanico’s Chocolate and Rosetta Bakery. CentralFare will also bring in big-name chef's from both a local and national level as they aim to create a new culinary experience in Downtown Miami. MiamiCentral is an 11-acre mixed-use, live, work, play style develompment that will also feature All Aboard Florida express trains connecting Miami to Orlando.

Miami Worldcenter Files Utility Plans, to Feature as Much Restaurant Space as Retail
Miami Worlcenter’s newly filed utility plan shows that there will be nearly as much restaurant space as retail. Miami-Dade Water and Sewer has approved a deal that will allow Miami Worldcenter to build 202,391 SF of full-service restaurant space, 50,000 SF of fast food restaurant space and 21,500 SF of bar and cocktail space. It is expected that with this restaurant footprint, Miami Worldcenter's restaurant tentants could serve up to 17,000 customers at a single time. The new plan includes 281,191 SF of retail, 5,862 SF of residential units, 202,391 SF of full-service restaurant space, 50,000 SF of fast food restaurant space, 21,500 SF of bar and cocktail space, 250 hotel rooms, 506,500 SF of office space and 26 bungalows. In separate agreements are The Marriott at Worldcenter, Paramount Worldcenter and the 45-story Hines office building.
The Citadel, Mixed Used Retail/ Entertainment Venue in Little Haiti, to Open Next Year
Little Haiti continues to evolve and develop as the area has really heated up in recent years. The Citadel will be yet another major shake-up to the neighborhood as Conway Commercial Real Estate and Urban Atlantic Group's 60,000 mixed-use development. The project will include a 10,000 SF food hall that will feature over 20 vendors including Stanzione, Bianco Gelato and Smashing Avo's. There will also be a retail mezzanine with a focus on service-oriented retailers, office space/ studio space and a rooftop bar. The Citadel is expected to open in early 2018.
Estefan Kitchen Opens in Design District's Palm Court
New to Miami's Design District's Palm Court comes Estefan Kitchen, from Gloria and Emilio Estefan. The 1950's Cuban style high-end eatery offers Cuban cuisine which is a blend between the Estefan family recipes and those by executive chef Odell Torres. Menu items include crispy moros, vaca frita, braised short ribs, paella, etc. Estefan Kitchen also features a 34-seat bar that extends outdoors into Palm Court. Next door to the main restuarant will be an express café part of the restaurant that offers traditional Cuban grab-and-go items, fresh juice, smoothies and shakes. Estefan Kitchen officially opened Saturday, March 4, 2017.
La Centrale, Miami's First Italian Food Hall Coming to Brickell City Centre
La Centrale will be the new Italian Food Hall in Brickell City Centre, the first of its kind in Miami. The eatery will be three-stories tall and 38,000 SF with a "restaurant-forward concept." It will include Italian restaurants, cafes, an enoteca, culinary school and retail space. The first floor with be a "multi-sensory convivial vibe driven by true Italian hospitality." This will include coffee, bakery and homemade pastas. The second floor will feature original restaurants and a gelato shop. The third floor will feature interactive events including wine tastings, food pairings, the culinary school and food programs.
Melo Group Redesigns Flagler on The River Project's Riverwalk, Gains Approval
The Melo Group has redesigned the Flagler On The River project with a 14-foot riverwalk after city officials threatened to put a stop to construction after they had initially built the riverwalk 2 feet narrower then the approved plans. The commission has since approved the newly submitted, updated plans and the developer will press on with construction. The Flagler On The River project will be the future location of Sushi Samba and Duck & Waffle.
Antonio Mellino's Forte Dei Marmi Opens on Miami Beach
Miami Beach has yet another upscale Italian restaurant on Ocean Drive as Two Michelin Star chef Antonio Mellino has opened Forte Dei Marmi at 150 Ocean Drive. The concept has transformed the 1938 Mediterranean-revival building into a Tuscan seaside inspired abode with renovations headed-up by Miami star-architect Chad Oppenheim of Oppenheim Architecture + Design and interiors by Henry Timi and landscaping by Enzo Enea. The second floor of the building with be an Arts Club and Lounge.
Fabrizio & Diana Bianconi to Transform Mast Capital's Brickell Chateau into Italian Restaurant
Fabrizio & Diana Bianconi will launch their first restaurant in Miami after launching successful concepts in St. Barts and Los Angeles. The restaurant will be located in Mast Capital's famous Petit Douy French Chateau at 1500 Brickell which they acquired in 2013 for $2.575 million. Since then the property has gone through multiple changes including renovations to modernize the structure as well as being rezoned for retail and commercial use. Since acquisition Camilo Miguel Jr., the founder and CEO of Mast Capital, has had his sights set on bringing a restaurant to the property. The restaurant will be designed by Diana Bianconi and will feature an outdoor garden and lounge. The menu will be Italian including homemade pasta, steaks and seafood.The Italian restauranteurs also own Via Veneta and Bianconi in Los Angeles and L’Isola and L’Isoletta in St. Barts.
Thomas Keller, Founder & Chef of Manhattan's Per Se, to Open Concept in Surf Club Four Seasons
Thomas Keller, the award-winning chef who founded Per Se in Manhattan and French Laundry in California, amongst others, will open a new concept in Surfside's Surf Club Four Seasons. Keller has looked at Miami for over five years, finally deciding to open in Surf Club Four Seasons after learning of the project and sites former history and beautiful new construction that has become a stunning additon to the Surfside community. Keller maintains that while his Surf Club Four Seasons concept will be upscale, it will not be another very fine dining restaurant but a more accessible restaurant for all to enjoy. As he told the Miami Herald, “I don’t think I’ll ever open another fine dining restaurant in America. Trying to replicate that energy, I’m not going to do that, not at my age, the Surf Club will not be about my personality.”
Surf Club Four Seasons is a luxury hotel and residential condo project that spans 9 acres with 965 feet of beach frontage. The development includes a 77-room Four Seasons Hotel as well as two 12-story residential buildings with 150 condos. Amenities include four swimming pools, a spa and gym, and 40 beach cabanas. Condo prices range from $3.4 million to $18 million and the project is over 80 percent sold as reported by ISG Miami. Surf Club Four Seasons is expected to open in 2018.
