Terra And One Thousand Group Join Forces With Major Food Group To Reveal 'Villa' In Edgewater
Iconic Miami-based real estate development firms Terra and One Thousand Group have joined forces with hospitality powerhouse Major Food Group to reveal the Villa, a gleaming ultra-luxe waterfront tower in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood. The Villa will be one of the most coveted residential and lifestyle experiences in the world, created by a first-of-its-kind partnership uniting the visionaries behind some of the most acclaimed hospitality, private club and residential experiences to shape the future of modern luxury living.
A 58-story, 650-foot-tall crystalline tower with a copper color-cladded exoskeletal design, the Villa will be available to as few as 50 families, offering expansive full-floor vertical “villas” with 360-degree views of Biscayne Bay and the city, as well as astonishing levels of personalized service, curated amenities, crafted design, and privacy. This venture unites a group of Miami’s most respected legacy developers for the first time, Terra, led by CEO, David Martin, and One Thousand Group, Co-Founded by Kevin Venger and Louis Birdman along with partner Michael Konig. Terra has been known for tapping Pritzker-Prize-award-winning architects, from Bjarke Ingels to Rem Koolhaas and Arquitectonica, to build its cutting-edge portfolio which includes Grove at Grand Bay and Park Grove, while One Thousand Group are the innovators behind Miami’s iconic One Thousand Museum by Zaha Hadid Architects.
“We’ve been at the forefront of presenting legacy developments that are transformational to key neighborhoods,” says David Martin, CEO of Terra. “Villa is the project that marks the coming of age for the Edgewater neighborhood. The unrivaled level of service, social amenities, design and architecture, combined with the full floor residences is going to be a defining factor for the area.”
The creative forces of Major Food Group, the hospitality powerhouse behind CARBONE, Contessa, Dirty French and Sadelle’s, reshaping Miami’s dining landscape over the past two years, will develop every last detail of the luxury hospitality experience at the Villa. The program MFG has conceptualized includes a superior collection of resident-only lounges, bars, and restaurants. The vision reflects MFG’s style of decadence, impeccable white glove level of service and expertise in creating a range of dynamic environments that represent the pinnacle of dining and luxury.
“All the players on this dream team have unparalleled track records of giving the world the very highest level of firsts in their respective industries,” says Major Food Group Co-Founder Jeff Zalaznick. “There is no doubt that Villa will set the standard that luxury developments are measured by for decades to come.”
“Many of our owners at One Thousand Museum—and the many buyers who missed out on that opportunity— all keep asking, ‘What’s next?’ We had to deliver something even more exclusive, responsive to the demands and lifestyle of the highest-profile residents and celebrity buyers in the world.” Adds One Thousand Group Co-Founder, Kevin Venger
Villa not only represents the first-ever collaboration between Terra and One Thousand Group, but also the first foray into a collaboration between Major Food Group and interior designer Vicky Charles of Charles & Co. for the luxury condominium’s design and programming. Charles is known for her work as former design director at Soho House and for commissions for the likes of Sony Music, Goop, George and Amal Clooney, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, and David and Victoria Beckham, including the interiors for their Penthouse at One Thousand Museum. Charles & Co will lead the interiors for the Villa. Major Food Group and Charles will collaborate closely to perfect the residential and hospitality environments.
To develop best-in-class residential kitchens that merge sophistication with practicality, famed Major Food Group Co-Founder Mario Carbone will draw on his signature sense of style, and the wisdom he has amassed over his career cheffing in the most hallowed dining destinations in the world.
“We look forward to harnessing our unrivaled passion, knowledge, and love for the act of cooking to create the perfect modern home,” says Carbone.
Leading the architectural design team is local rising star Kurt Dannwolf, of O’Donnell, Dannwolf & Partners (ODP Architects), whose renowned CV includes collaborations with such luminaries as Zaha Hadid Architects, Foster + Partners, OMA, KPF, SOATA, Elkus Manfredi Architects, Herzog & de Meuron, and MAD Architects. Global structural design firm DeSimone—whose more than 10,000 building designs include the most recognizable high-rises in New York and Miami—will engineer this impressive structure.
Rounding out the team is one of the world’s most renowned landscape architects, Enzo Enea, of Switzerland.
