LOFTY Brickell Appoints G.T. McDonald As GC, Set For Foundation Pour January 2024
Forward-thinking real estate developer Newgard Development Group has appointed G.T. McDonald Enterprises, Inc. as general contractor for the riverfront LOFTY Brickell luxury condominium. The well-known contractor was brought on board as Newgard has secured a permit to begin pouring the building’s foundation scheduled to start on the first of the year. The 44-story LOFTY Brickell will rise on the Miami River in the city’s Brickell district.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between Newgard and G.T. McDonald, following their successful cooperation on the completed Gale Residences Fort Lauderdale Beach in 2018.
Headquartered in Plantation, Florida, G.T. McDonald brings over 40 years of experience in providing Design-Build and Construction Management services throughout South Florida. With a team of over 80 professionals specializing in Engineering and Construction Management, including Certified General Contractors and licensed Professional Engineers, G.T. McDonald has established itself as a best-in-class construction firm.
"G.T. McDonald is a valued partner of Newgard's, and its team is ideally suited to oversee the construction of LOFTY Brickell. We are thrilled to expand our working relationship and look forward to going vertical with the building,” said Harvey Hernandez, Newgard founder and CEO.
The general contractor’s impressive portfolio includes notable projects such as 1111 Lincoln Road, Diplomat Tower 100 in Hallandale Beach, The Rise at Flagler Village in Fort Lauderdale, and Monad Terrace in Miami Beach.
LOFTY Brickell represents the pinnacle of Newgard's flexible ownership concept. Already over 94% sold, LOFTY is positioned as one of the Miami condo market's most successful projects under development. Vertical construction is estimated to take 30-to-36 months upon commencement.
"G.T. McDonald has a track record for completing quality work on time and on budget, making them the ideal choice for a project of this caliber," added Newgard Senior Vice President of Construction Bromley Kelly.
President Jerry McDonald of G.T. McDonald Enterprises, Inc. expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, "LOFTY will be a tremendous addition to Miami's skyline and the Brickell district. Our team will apply its high-rise experience and best practices to deliver LOFTY as another successful project for Newgard."
Designed by Arquitectonica, LOFTY features 362 units with studio, one- and two-bedroom residences furnished by INC. The building boasts 40,000 square feet of carefully curated amenities, including a private marina, a members-only social club, resort pool deck, fitness center, spa facilities, indoor cigar lounge, co-working lounge, and meeting rooms.
