Waterfront Estate On Miami Beach's Flamingo Drive Owned By Designer Jean-Louis Deniot Sells For Record $7.5 Million
A mid-century waterfront home on Miami Beach’s famed Flamingo Drive, owned and completely redesigned by renowned French architect and interior designer Jean-Louis Deniot, has sold for $7.5 million. The sale represents a record as the highest price-per-square-foot paid for a single-family residence on the Flamingo Drive enclave. The 5-bedroom, 5-bath residence, 2979 Flamingo Drive, features 4,779 SF of adjusted area and 5,881 SF of total area. The sale was overseen by EWM’s Nelson Gonzalez.
“Today’s sale is yet another indication of the traction that continues to build within our prime property market and its unmistakable appeal among buyers worldwide,” said Gonzalez. “This home is a jewel in Miami Beach -- one that has been well-documented internationally for its jaw-dropping designs. Savvy buyers know that an opportunity to own a property of this caliber, in one of the globe’s most sought-after locations, cannot be overlooked.”
Deniot, who has been featured on Architectural Digest’s AD100 list of the world’s best interior designers and architects, completely redesigned the home in 2016 to reflect its original mid-century modern architecture. The two-year renovation process yielded a stunning end-result, marked by a bevy of fine finishes and artful accents. Custom terrazzo floors were poured throughout the interiors and exteriors to give the space a feel of endless fluidity, as well as a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.
Past the grand entryway are multiple open spaces, including a sunken living room with soaring 14-foot vaulted ceilings. The eat-in-style kitchen, which is adjacent to the dining area, has Wolf and SubZero appliances, marble countertops, and a breakfast area overlooking the pool. High-end finishes and features include custom marble sinks in all baths, Kallista, Dornbracht, and Waterworks fixtures, custom-made closets with fine metallic finishes and concealed LED lighting, high-gloss grey lacquer coated interior doors, Lutron and LED lighting, a Sonos music system, and a state-of-the-art security camera system. Outside, the resort-like backyard is fully equipped with a TV projector, 15-foot marble bar and grill, large heated pool, a new dock and seawall, and a waterfront lounge area with sweeping views. The home, which is gated, also has two carport spaces.
