AirBNB recently sued the City of Miami Beach over the newly instituted ordinance regulating short-term rentals which requires short-term rental platforms, such as AirBNB, to regulate the posted listings and only offer properties that have provided proof of registration with the city. AirBNB recently took down all illegal Miami Beach listings from the site. AirBNB is also planning an IPO in late 2020 and has been valued at over $31 billion.
